MFL – French for everyone.

In line with the National Curriculum 2014 French is our modern foreign language throughout Key Stage 2. The main aim of our MFL work is to give a basic grounding in vocabulary and encourage listening and speaking skills. Our French programme includes lots of work around every day language, promoting confidence in speaking by recognising and responding to core phrases. We aim to make this fun for the children using lots of games, songs role play, questioning and stories. Evidence of vocabulary and writing is recorded in the children’s French writing books.

Class 4 children are paired with a school in France.

Over the past couple of years they have written letters to each other, made bookmarks and put together short films.

The Class are the same age as our children and their teacher, Helene Perraudau, is as passionate as we are that children experience other languages from native speakers.

Please click on this document to access the Key stage 2 objectives/targets that are recorded in the children’s French books.
