Autumn Term

School Council Elections!

The children delivering their well practiced speeches to become the new members of the School Council.

World Teachers Day!

Roles reversed! Today was all about celebrating the teachers in your life! Whether that be at school or home. The children dressed as their favourite teacher for the day, and teachers the students of St Josephs! It was great fun, with Nightingale Class having the chance to do the register, deliver parts of the lessons and interview Mr Mason on what it’s like to be a teacher!

For our Topic ‘Transport’ this term we visited Dean Forest Railway which was a lot of fun! The children experienced a steam train journey, a tour of the workers factories and a walk through the museum. They have collected lots of amazing facts about steam trains from this trip and had a fantastic time.

Black History Month

This month we have been learning about a number of important figures within black culture. Nightingale Class have focused their learning on Nelson Mandela and Rosa Parks, which they took part in an exciting and fascinating Black History Month workshop to learn more.

The Beginning of Advent!

Advent has begun! The children have a Jesse Tree where they learn a new story of the birth of Jesus each day. Nightingale Class have created their own Jesse tree with the symbols of each member of Jesus’ family. They have also role played what it may have been like as Isaiah during their R.E. lesson.
