We Are Proud to Be an Artsmark Gold School!

We are delighted to share with our families that our school has achieved Artsmark Gold status. This is a nationally recognised award that celebrates our commitment to high-quality arts and cultural education for every child.

What is Artsmark?

Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings in England. It is accredited by Arts Council England and recognises schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to creativity across the curriculum.

The award is not something schools simply apply for — it is earned through a rigorous development process. Schools must:

Reflect carefully on their current arts provision

Create and implement a detailed action plan

Develop teaching and learning in creative subjects

Strengthen partnerships with artists and cultural organisations

Demonstrate clear impact on pupils and staff

Achieving Gold means we have embedded creativity at the heart of our curriculum and school culture.

What This Means for Your Child

Being an Artsmark Gold school means your child benefits from:

A Broad and Balanced Creative Curriculum

Children experience high-quality learning in:

	Art and Design

	Music

	Drama and Performance

	Dance

	Creative Writing

	Cross-curricular creative projects

Creativity is not limited to “arts lessons” — it enhances learning across subjects, helping children think critically, solve problems, and express themselves confidently.

Increased Confidence and Wellbeing

Engagement in the arts supports:

	Self-expression

	Emotional development

	Collaboration and teamwork

	Resilience and independence

We are proud that our creative approach helps children grow not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well.

Opportunities Beyond the Classroom

As part of our Artsmark journey, we have:

Developed partnerships with artists and cultural organisations

Provided workshops, performances and enrichment activities

Created opportunities for children to showcase their talents

These experiences broaden horizons and inspire future ambitions.

Why Arts Education Matters

Research shows that high-quality arts education can:

	Improve engagement and motivation

	Strengthen communication skills

	Support mental health and wellbeing

	Enhance attainment across the curriculum

At our school, we believe creativity is essential — not an “extra.” Achieving Artsmark Gold recognises the hard work of our staff and the enthusiasm and talent of our pupils.

Looking Ahead

Achieving Gold is a significant milestone, but it is not the end of our journey. We remain committed to:

Continuing to develop innovative creative opportunities

Ensuring equal access to arts experiences for all children

Building on our strong creative curriculum

We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful for the ongoing support of our families. Together, we will continue to nurture creativity, confidence and a lifelong love of the arts in every child.
