HAPPY LUNCHTIMES!

Here at St. Joseph's, our lunchtimes are HAPPY LUNCHTIMES! There are several goals that we have for our lunchtimes each day:

• Use THE ZONE to provide a new, exciting activity every day
• Use our Pom Poms, certificates and Table of Awesomeness to notice and reward positive behaviour at lunchtime
• Use our 1, 2, 3 Sanctions to make sure that everyone is happy and safe
• Show kindness and consideration when playing and answer with "of course you can!" when someone asks to play
• Show good manners, including table manners
• Have a quieter, more pleasant dining room

More on THE ZONE...

An area of the playground will be known as 'The Zone'. Each day, a different activity will take place there; these activities will be drawn from a wide selection of activities designed to appeal to differing styles of play. The Zone should make every day feel special and give children the chance to learn new games and make new friends. An adult will choose the day's activity and lead it (assisted by our Year 6 helpers), making sure that rules are known and respected.

• Equipment for the activity in The Zone must stay within The Zone
• Everyone can join in
• Pupils should respect the role of the Lunchtime Teachers and Year 6 helpers leading the activity
