As part of our class project and our involvement in the SuperKind Award, the children have been learning about how we can protect our local environment, with a special focus on the River Wye. Linking this work to our class name, the children have decided to create posters and banners to raise awareness about caring for the river and the impact our actions can have. Once these are complete, we plan to head into Ross to share our messages with the wider community.
This project helps the children develop confidence, teamwork and a sense of responsibility, while making a real positive impact locally — all key elements of the SuperKind Award and a brilliant example of kindness in action. 💚

Reception had a fantastic Forest School session this week, linking closely with our science learning about woodland animals and their habitats. The children learnt about different woodland animals and discovered what their homes are called, including fox dens, badger setts and rabbit warrens. They then worked together at Forest School to create their own versions using natural materials. The children were incredibly engaged, curious and enthusiastic, and loved learning about the animals in such a hands-on way!

Reception had a lovely tour of our Church - St. Frances of Rome - this afternoon as part of their R.E topic. We identified lots of different features of our church, such as the font, stained glass windows and the altar. Father Nick kindly talked to us about different features we could see and we learnt about some new features such as the Tabernacle, the Chasuble and the Thurible. The children thoroughly enjoyed our visit and asked some very thoughtful questions to find out more about this special place. We finished our tour by saying our school prayer together while sitting in the pews.
