A way we promote literacy within our setting is by having sensory tuff trays. The children enjoy the sensory experience of mark making in gloop, fake snow and shaving foam. They are beginning to be able to understand the cause and effects of mark making. Knowing that the marks they make are of value. The children also enjoy drawing and writing on different textures such as on paper or the interactive whiteboard.
