We are really excited to share our learning journey with you during this important and memorable final year of primary school. On this page, you will find useful information about what we are learning in class, alongside key documents, important dates and upcoming events.
Year 6 is a busy and rewarding year where pupils develop independence, resilience and confidence as they prepare for their transition to secondary school. Alongside preparing for SATs, we focus on developing well-rounded learners through engaging, creative and challenging lessons across the curriculum. We are looking forward to sharing this special year with the children and celebrating their achievements together.
Thank you for your continued support – let’s make this a fantastic and successful year!

In Year 6, home learning is set on a fortnightly rotation to support children in developing key skills and preparing them for SATs and secondary school. We use our online learning journey platform, Evidence Me.
Week 1: Maths and Grammar homework
Week 2: Reading Comprehension homework
Homework will be set to consolidate learning that has taken place in class and to build confidence in key Year 6 skills. If children find homework challenging, they are encouraged to speak to the class teacher, so support can be provided.
Thank you for your continued support in helping the children develop strong learning habits and independence.
Our PE day for this term falls on a Wednesday. Please ensure the children have their kits in the school for this day. We recommend bringing in the children's kits on a Monday so that it is ready in school for the session on Wednesday. Children will then wear their PE kits home on Wednesday.
