    St Joseph's Nursery Prospectus - March 2024

    BABY ROOM

We were delighted to open a baby room for 6 months - 2 years in October 2024.

We have a well resourced base room full of stimulating toys, a cosy corner and plenty of opportunity to develop their physical development.

They also have daily visits to the role-play room where they can play imaginatively with their key workers and peers.

The babies have lunch in the hall with the other nursery children, and we have a cosy sleep room for naps.

We have a separate garden for the children under 2 and have recently purchased a 6-seater pram - the children love going on little outings!

    OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS

We have our own outdoor play areas where children can play imaginatively, dig, plant and develop their movement and co-ordination skills. We also have access to the school's beautiful tree lined, grass play area, which we use on a weekly basis.

'Children get off to a great start in the early years, and learning moves smoothly from one key stage to the next. Teachers have high expectations of pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Pupils learn well and soon become competent readers. They are well prepared for the next stage in their education.'

'Provision in the early years is very strong and this supports children to be ready for learning in Year 1.'

'The school makes learning to read a top priority. Starting in the Nursery class, a structured and rigorous programme ensures that children learn about letters and sounds in an effective sequence. Staff use the programme’s resources in a consistent way.'

We invite parents and children to come and see what we have to offer and please be assured of a very warm  welcome.  For  further  information  or  to  arrange  a  visit  please  contact  our  school  office  on
