English

Blue Lagoon have been learning how to write a Narrative tragedy story in their English lessons. As a class they have produced an example of this based on the book 'Flood' by Alvaro. F. Villa.

In Maths Blue Lagoon are focusing on numbers up to 1000. We have been working with these numbers through different contexts. The children have explored adding and subtracting numbers using number lines and dienes. They are now using measurement and converting cm to m and cm.

Science

The children are exploring the different muscles in the human body and identifying the muscle that allows them to do different exercises.

Religious Education

Blue Lagoon have explored Judaism for their other faith learning this term. The focus was on the place of worship the Synagogue. The children created their own Synagogue stained glass windows and investigated the important structural parts of this place of worship.

Blue Lagoon have been learning the importance of promises and commitment in RE. They roleplayed the sacrament of baptism in order to recognise the messages in the commitment parents and godparents must promise to a new life.

Design & Technology

Blue Lagoon followed a recipe for Japanese Fruit Skewers. This was to give them a focus on seasonal fruit around the world. They enjoyed making their skewers and gave a review on what they thought of it.

Year 3 explored the fruit and vegetables they have access to from local farms and gardens. They created apple crumble by using following a recipe carefully and developing their skills through cutting and mixing.

ART

Miss Jenn came to visit the children to help them create little people made out of paper wire. They designed them using different patterned paper and they will be sold at the St Joseph's Art Exhibition in November.
