We have our own outdoor play area where children can play imaginatively, dig and plant and develop their movement and co-ordination skills. We also have access to the school's beautiful tree lined, grass play area with adventure trail, which we use on a weekly basis.

The Nursery children particularly enjoy their 'Forest School Adventures',

which take place at the end of every half term.

The Nursery children regularly participate in whole school events such as World Book Day and pancake races for Shrove Tuesday! Working closely with the main school and providing opportunities for the children to experience whole school events allows for a smooth transition into our Reception class, as the children are already familiar with routines and staff.

Celebrating Chinese New Year 2020!

We are fortunate to have highly dedicated and experienced members of staff to teach our 2-4 year olds in a supportive environment where all children are welcomed and valued.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and plan to include children's needs and interests.   As part of our provision we offer the children a variety of different activities, such as weekly Yoga sessions with Mrs Derrett and Music lessons with Mrs Holloway.

Ofsted 2018 said:

'The two separate outdoor environments for the Nursery and Reception classes are stunning.

The children  are very proud of their facilities.'

The children's well being and happiness is our highest priority and we were therefore delighted that Ofsted 2018 noted that

'St Joseph’s School Family comprising of pupils, parents, staff and governors, all work relentlessly to ensure that St Joseph’s  is the best school it can be. '

We invite parents and children to come and see what we have to offer and please be assured of a very warm welcome. For further information or to arrange a visit please contact our school office on 01989 564655, we look forward to meeting you.

Nursery had a fantastic time, taking part in Forest School! They enjoyed making leaf boats and worm charming and especially creating a leaf shower with the leaves they had collected.
