The children have been part of some wonderful imaginative play in our new sunshine room and have enjoyed looking at books in our book corner - especially getting cosy in our reading pods smiley

The children have loved exploring our new sensory room, playing with the treasure baskets and enjoying the lights and music. The busy wall is very popular!

We have our own outdoor play area where children can play imaginatively, dig, plant and develop their movement and co-ordination skills. We also have access to the school's beautiful tree lined, grass play area, which we use on a weekly basis.

Nursery children also enjoy taking part in Forest School sessions every half term.

Ofsted 2018 said

'The two separate environments for the Nursery and Reception classes are stunning. The children are very proud of their facilities'

We are fortunate to have highly dedicated and experienced members of staff to teach our 2-4 year olds in a supportive environment where all children are welcomed and valued.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and plan to include children's needs and interests.   As part of our provision we offer the children a variety of different activities, such as weekly Music lessons with Moo Music...

...and yoga with Mrs Derrett

The children regularly participate in whole school events such as World Book Day, sports day and summer music concerts. Working closely with main school and providing opportunities for the children to experience whole school events allows for a smooth transition to Reception Class.

The children's well being and happiness is our highest priority and we were therefore delighted that Ofsted 2018 noted that

'St Joseph’s School Family comprising of pupils, parents, staff and governors, all work relentlessly to ensure that St Joseph’s  is the best school it can be. '

We invite parents and children to come and see what we have to offer and please be assured of a very warm welcome. For further information or to arrange a visit please contact our school office on 01989 564655, we look forward to meeting you.
